[4K] Developer_Direct 2025
-1:07 There are lot of blurry images, but we were only able to make out a few details: hell, a forest, a pillar, and a doorway.
-1:19 On the board to the left, there's a list of names with two new demons and one returning demon mentioned: Acolyte, Serfs, and Cosmic Baron. While we don’t have much information about the Cosmic Baron, Piggylolmao speculated that Serfs and Acolyte are heavy or super heavy demons, based on the fact that most other demons there fall into that category. It's possible that the Acolyte is a powerful warlock demon, while Serfs might function like a two-part enemy, similar to the Beast Rider, where there are large, strong slaves controlled by a smaller, weaker demon master. A good example would be Ferra & Torr from Mortal Kombat X.
-1:22 When an explosive barrel is shot, the surrounding assets are destroyed, sending debris flying.
DOOM: The Dark Ages | Developer_Direct 2025 (4K) | Coming May 15, 2025
-0:03 There appears to be either a shining or glowing demon.
-0:06 The text reads, “Lights brighten one by one with speed as it accelerates to the top of the cacoon.” This might be a tutorial, but for what purpose, I'm not sure.
-0:07 Hugo seems to be playtesting a boss fight against the fat Maykr, judging by its overall shape and the golden ring above it.
-1:13 The character bowing to Prince Azhrak is not Commander Valen or King Novik, but a completely new character.
-1:14 The inscriptions on the ball of the Flail may explain why it can ignite enemies.
-1:19, 10:32, 10:39 Three different types of sentinel armor which might indicate rank.
-1:22 While Slayer is falling, you can see an inactive Atlan on the left side.
-1:24 Many people think this may be a cutscene, but we’re uncertain. Every cutscene we've seen has black bars to create a cinematic feel, while this one is in full screen. Additionally, the Hell Knight appears to be injured from combat, which doesn’t seem right for a Hell Knight in a cutscene. We understand that glory kills have been revamped, but this scene, along with the dragon scene in the initial trailer, and how glory killing works with enemies like cacodemons, has led us to question things.
-1:26 This might be the same ship that was laying down fire during the Atlan section.
-1:39, 7:03, 7:06, 7:11 You can spot rings with a (+) symbol on them, likely the way to regain health during dragon sections.
-1:41 In the bottom right corner, a possible deceased titan can be seen.
-1:44 In the top right, sentinels and demons are battling on a nearly destroyed structure.
-1:44, 3:32, 9:03 The spider-like demon appears to have different variations, one with a fully armored body except for its abdomen, and another that uses Immoran armor with everything covered except for its back legs and abdomen. The glowing spot on its chest seems to be a weak point, as shooting it deals critical damage. It has four different attacks: a large projectile wall from its cannon, smaller projectiles from its shoulder-mounted gun, a large toxic ball it spits from its mouth, and a swipe if you get too close.
-1:51 Someone is seen designing what could possibly be the rocket launcher or Hellbarge.
-1:56 There's a new location shown.
-2:01, 4:52, 4:58, 8:05, 8:36, 8:41, 8:47, 8:49 A scratched-up wall appears in several parts of the video, but we suspect it won’t function for climbing in the same way as in DE, but rather as a very quick wall climb or run due to their varying sizes, and some walls appearing in combat encounters.
-2:01 An Atlan can be seen in the top left corner.
-2:05 A wall filled with pictures features:
-Concept art of the Atlan, which we saw more clearly in the magazine.
-Unreleased art of the Slayer and Dragon.
-Concept art of an unknown female character. Based on her outfit, she might be a thief or assassin, probably the latter since she has a dagger. The burn scars on her face could be from a demon, potentially making her part of the reason the Slayer is freed and she might continue to act as a foil to the demons.
-Concept art of the Arachnatron.
-Concept art of the armored Thrall.
-Concept art of the Slayer.
-Concept art of the dragon, which we also saw more clearly in the magazine.
-Concept art of the Hell Tank.
-Concept art of the Hell Artillery Launcher.
-Concept art of the brain demon in the dragon section.
-Concept art of an unknown demon that looks quite ape-like, similar to a gorilla, using Immoran tech. It might also shoot a laser-like attack from its eye, similar to Cyclops from the X-Men.
-Concept art of the armored Hell Knight, which we also got a better look at in the magazine.
-Concept art of the Aggadon Hunter, again seen better in the magazine.
-Concept art of the spider-like demon.
-Concept art of the Mancubus, along with a few reference images.
-Concept art of the Tyrant, which appears to have a flaming blade here.
-Concept art of the lizard-like demon.
-Concept art of an unknown demon, initially thought to be a pinky, but on closer inspection might actually be one of those four-legged titans shown at last year's QuakeCon.
-Concept art of the Imp and a reference sprite of its classic design.
-Concept art of the space version of the sky city.
-Concept art of the forest, which we got a better look at in the magazine.
-Various concept art of Hell.
-Possible concept art of the Harbor of Souls.
-Possible concept art of the Exultia-like location seen in the video.
-Concept art of unknown locations.
-Concept art of the double barrel plasma rifle, the Accelerator, and what appears to be a very blurry futuristic chest.
-Concept art of the Atlan chaingun and its weapon mod, or maybe an Atlan grenade launcher.
-Concept art of the SSG and a possible weapon mod? Not sure what it is, but there is a hint of red and a yellow glow.
-Concept art of the Rail Spike and its weapon mod.
-Concept art of the Skull Crusher and its weapon mod.
-Black and white concept art?
-Possible concept art of the shoulder-mounted Gatling gun.
-Concept art of a Hell Ship.
-Concept art of something too dark to see.
-2:13, 10:22 It's possible that the cutscenes we thought were connected might not actually be. One cutscene features the Combat Shotgun while another shows the SSG, and one has a fully retracted shield saw while the other displays exposed blades. One scene has a Maykr-designed USB port that's energized while the other shows the base design USB port. So, these could be two different cutscenes or from different stages in development.
-2:29 On the left, there's a less vibrant version of the Skull Crusher’s pickup.
-2:51, 4:10 The purple swirl indicates that a demon is about to spawn.
-3:06 For some reason, even with the base design of the USB Port, the Slayer still has glowing eyes.
-3:21 Under his armor, the Hell Knight still shows glowing markings, possibly meaning that, like the armored Baron, he could regenerate his armor.
-3:29 After the parry, a spiked ball comes from the Aggadon, which likely represents the melee recharge you get after each parry mentioned in the article.
-3:40 A Night Sentinel appears to be sitting next to the wreckage, suggesting you might be able to interact with them.
-3:51, 8:15 It’s possible that this portal serves as an objective for this mission or TDA’s version of the secret encounters from DE.
-3:55 An injured person can be seen lying on the ground to the right.
-4:02, 4:55, 8:39 Demons in a glory kill state have a purple outline.
-4:05 In the background, you can see the barrel of the Hell Tank tracking your movement.
-4:22 On the left, a tank is present in the arena, indicating that there may be upgraded versions of ambient demon types such as tentacles, cueballs, and buff totems.
-4:28, 8:36, 8:44 Blood will coat surfaces and will look different depending on the type of surface involved.
-4:42 The Imps, after being shocked, enter a glory kill state while lying on the ground.
-4:52 The zap on the Mancubus’s face causes a burn mark.
-4:48 The Imp loses an arm, showing that even lower-tier demons are involved in the upgraded weak point system.
-5:04 Rail Spike ammo pickups can be seen to the left.
-5:29 On the left, behind a locked door, there appears to be a chest, suggesting that there may be some level of switch-hunting in TDA.
-5:30 At the bottom, there's a pickup for the Gauntlet.
-5:42 After taking the first punch, the Hell Knight spits something out.
-5:44 The Hell Knight loses a leg, indicating that it can be shot or hit off while still alive.
-5:53 A user on either YouTube or Reddit pointed out that the music here sounds similar to “Bye Bye American Pie” from Doom 2.
-6:03, 6:16 Better examples of more interactive and destructive environments can be seen.
-6:18 Another version of the Rail Spike pickup is found to the left of the plasma shield guy.
-6:35 A Beast Rider accidentally hits an Imp, so there might be a way to create infighting.
-6:55 Three tanks can be seen on the bottom, with one firing.
-6:57 While swinging, the Thrall's club bursts into flames.
-7:03 The bottom shows a larger and more menacing version of the eye from TAG 1 and 2.
-7:06, 7:12 @Sloops discovered the shoulder-mounted turret on the Slayer's left shoulder here.
-7:11 The brain-like demon can be spotted in front of the dragon.
-7:14 There is a wall of flesh on the left.
-7:18 While swinging, the Thrall's club begins to glow a greenish-yellow.
-7:45 A sealed-off gate appears in the bottom left corner.
-7:46 A Doom 3-like demonic skull is positioned over the door, along with a horned Mancubus statue.
-7:52 The Hell Artillery Launcher can be seen on the top right, which may relate to ambient enemy types like the Hell Tank.
-7:54 A green glow is seen coming from something below.
-8:25 Prince Azhrak is standing on top of his ship.
-8:29 The Slayer has a Maykr USB port, but his eyes aren't glowing, which might mean the effect only activates when energized.
-8:38 The Zombie might have a new walking animation.
-8:38 Blood and grime cover the shield and the double barrel plasma rifle.
-8:45 The ball of the Flail is glowing, possibly indicating an upgrade that allows it to burn enemies.
-8:47 I counted over 50 demons.
-8:50 I counted over 60 demons.
-8:53 The roof has an electric field.
-8:55 Something is glowing beneath the floorboards.
-9:03 A possible pickup can be seen in the background.
-9:09 This might be the green abstract location we saw in the magazine, based on its overall appearance.
-9:12 A crane is holding up a green object marked with the mark of the beast, possibly used for platforming.
-9:29, 10:34 The armored Thrall, armored Hell Knight, and Prince Azhrak all display an inverted cross on their foreheads, which may indicate they belong to a faction, and those under this faction must bear its mark.
-9:32 Now, the Slayer shows no glowing eyes and has a basic USB port design.
-10:00 Based on this cutscene, the concept art, and the divinity skin pack, the Atlan seems to have two shoulder-mounted cannons.
-10:04 The Slayer is seen being accompanied by two Sentinel ships.
-10:13 Initially thought to be a control panel, what we see is actually a Maykr drone with a broken ring.
-10:13 The fat Maykr’s ring, when read from left to right, translates to "(space)Power(space)."
-10:27, 10:41 This could be the Umbral Plains, as it is likely the location where we will fight the Champion.
-10:31 The Maykr-designed object in her hand has the same symbol appearing on the Slayer’s Maykr base, suggesting it could either alert him or serve as a way to control him.
-10:49 A new demon seems to appear on the right side.
Extra
-In the divinity skin pack, the mark of the beast on the Slayer’s shield is replaced with an unknown Maykr symbol.
-From what we’ve gathered so far, there will be instances during traversal when demons will be summoned, break through walls, or suddenly appear, while in regular encounters, you'll confront large groups of pre-spawned enemies that you'll need to kill, a huge shift from the wave-based combat in both DE and 2016.
-According to the Slayer’s Club page, “Experience an epic story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage in this cinematic and action-packed story. Bound to serve as the super weapon of gods and kings, the DOOM Slayer fights against demon hordes as their leader aims to eliminate the Slayer and become the only one feared. Witness the creation of a legend as the Slayer battles all of Hell and changes the course of the war.” This is intriguing. It appears that Prince Azhrak wants to be feared by his kind and others above all, but with the Slayer being who he is, that poses a major challenge. I wonder if Azhrak is the one who sends the Champion against the Slayer as a way to eliminate him?
-The fat Maykr might potentially be a disguised Erebus, as both share a similar body shape. Erebus, labeled as the “Slavemaster of the Damned,” has complete control over the souls of Hell, and considering that shapeshifting demons are entirely plausible, it's not a stretch to suggest that Erebus could transform into the fat Maykr to maintain some level of control over him and to suppress him overall.
If I missed anything, @Piggylolmao will likely leave a comment or two to add more information.
