Product information Make Noise 0-COAST
Patchable Mono Synthesizer
Make Noise’s 0-COAST is a patchable Mono Synthesizer combining the synthesis method of the west coast (Buchla), and the East Coast (Moog) in a flexible instrument. The name suggests that O-Coast is both or neither coast in this sense – “O” coast, or “Zero” coast.
The synthesis techniques of the 0-Coast consist mainly of classical elements. The synthesizer has been designed to operate with and without patch cables. For this purpose, the circuits have been carefully linked and the result is an expressive and unique MonoSynth. With the MIDI controller of your choice, you can expand your sound spectrum with new and breath-taking dimensions.
With the help of the patch cables, the playing of the synthesizer becomes more scientific and there is a sense of experimentation when wiring the circuits. Basically even MIDI can be dispensed with in order to switch to analogue FM induced sidebands and harmonics built around a single fundamental frequency.
- Two channels of MIDI-to-CV and MIDI-to-Gate
- Voltage control (CV) of all circuits
- Patchable with 13 sources and 14 targets
- Compatible with Eurorack Modular Synthesizer signal
- Sync to MIDI Clock
- Dual mode MIDI controlled Arpeggiator
- Triangle Core Analog VCO
- Unique low pass gate dynamics

- Headphones and line level amplifiers
- Small and robust steel housing

A Sound Designer's Dream
Review from: piearesquaredat01/18/17
Honestly couldn't be happier with this little box. It is my first ever synth and I absolutely love it.
The range of sounds the 0-Coast is capable of is immense and the fact that it's not just another subtractive synth shows in the type of sounds you can achieve out of this. Everytime you start patching something insane comes out of it, a ton of fun and a very inspiring synth.
Easy to learn, difficult to master
Review from: Droptekat02/06/18
Firstly I must congratulate make noise on the parts included with the product. An interchangeable power supply meant I could use it in the UK straight out the box without buying adapters. It also came with patch cables which again means you can use it the day you get it. So well done there.
The actual synth itself is easy to use, sounds unlike anything else I've heard and is complex enough to keep you interested for a long long time. The variety of sounds you can make with this little thing is insane. Great for anyone who wants a taste for modular at a great price point.
First Semi-Modular System
Review from: Lukeat01/31/17
This was my first piece of modular gear I ever bought. It was great for learning with but now I've moved on to a fully modular system. My own system is much more advanced and it even has some Make Noise modules in it. So in my opinion the 0-Coast is a great place to start from.
